Man´s best friend…
The Collie Dog fly is an old Scottish fly pattern designed in the late 19th century. It was probably one of the very first, if not the first hair wing salmon fly ever, to be deployed on a salmon river – As the name indicate the wing of the fly could very well have been made from the hair of the collie and most likely the Border Collie that was a common dog on any estate in the Scotish Highlands.
Note! – Our flies are not tied with hair from Border Collie but of first-rate silver fox dyed jet black.
