Man´s best friend…
The Collie Dog fly is an old Scottish fly pattern designed in the late 19th century; it was probably one of the very first, if not the first hair wing salmon flies ever, to be deployed on a salmon river – As the name indicates, the wing of the fly could very well have been made from the hair of the collie and most likely the Border Collie that was a typical dog on any estate in the Scottish Highlands.
Note! – Our flies are not tied with hair from Border Collie but from first-rate Arctic runner hair dyed jet black.
