OROS 3-Pack of Strike Indicators
OROS strike indicators address common pain points. There are no small parts to lose or fumble with. Their streamlined design centres on the line, ensuring balanced casting without drag or tangles.
The line is locked inside the indicator
OROS indicators house the fastening hardware inside two moulded soft foam hemispheres. When closed, the hardware secures the line while the foam creates friction to keep the indicator from disengaging. The oversized threads make attaching it to the line effortless.
How to Attach:
- Unscrew the top
- Place the line in the screw slot
- Screw on the top until it stops, securing the line
- Unscrew 1/4 turn to adjust
- Don’t over-tighten
Features and Details
- Recommended line weights #Small: Up to 5X and lower I used it on my regular polyleader and 0.30 mm Maxima
- Does not kink the line
- Made with a biodegradable additive to accelerate natural biodegradation in extended exposure
- Top and bottom colors can be mixed for improved visibility
Nymphs for salmon and sea trout
While salmon fishing this summer, I now and the switched to a heavy nymph to target sea trout or salmon in quiet, hidden sections of the river. For this kind of fishing, strike indicators are essential. Over the years, I’ve tested many, but this season, I found one that truly stands out.
I got my hands on a set of OROS strike indicators from Patrick and Teri Douglas in Belgrade, Montana. Their practicality and ease of use impressed me so much that we’ve added OROS strike indicators to our collection of must-have fly fishing gear.
