Back in February 2026, we introduced the Wingman concept in the Fishmadman Newsletter and promised that the fly would eventually become available.
Now it is.
The Wingman Moose A stiffer wing. The same mission.
Wingman Moose is part of the Fishmadman Wingman series and follows the same design philosophy as the original Wingman. Using selected Moose Mane fibres, the fly gains a slightly stiffer wing profile while maintaining the compact proportions and controlled surface behaviour that define the series.
The wing is constructed and positioned according to the same principles used in the original Wingman. Every detail is intended to support stability, lift and a clean surface track.
To complement the wing design, Wingman Moose also incorporates our Pixel Head, a feature originally developed for the Hitchman series. The combination of the structured Moose Mane wing and the Pixel Head creates a unique fly that merges two proven Fishmadman concepts into a single design.
Tied on Fishmadman’s proven 3.2 mm Riffling Hitch Tube, Wingman Moose is designed for Atlantic salmon, Pacific salmon and sea trout anglers who appreciate precision, control and effective surface presentation.
The result is a fly built around balance, lift and flow while carrying design elements from both the Wingman and Hitchman families.

Delicate micro flies perfected to trail in the surface
All Fishmadman hitch tube flies is based on the same clever system that will enable you to fish with different hooks.
The line is entered through a hole in the belly or side of the fly – This will make the fly pull to the surface and wake. Due to the design of the tube system, the fly will hitch with ease even in slack water – We use fine hair from small squirrel as this has proven to be unrivaled material for these subtle micro wake flies.

We think we have the right to brag… when we say the best tubing ever made. All other tubing found in fly tying shops could not live up to our expectations. Together with a chemical engineer, we developed a new PVC-free plastic formula for the solemn purpose of producing a tube for riffling hitch.
- It will withstand a lot of mechanical wear
- Very low memory – This will ensure that the tube fall back into place after use (hook removed)
- Will work in a wide range of temperatures including frost cold days.
