We’ve done it! After more than 20 years of searching, we’ve finally tracked down a few original spools of the legendary Glimmer Reje pink chenille on a European e-commerce platform.
This discontinued French-made chenille was once one of the most sought-after fly tying materials in Denmark during the 1990s — and for good reason. It’s the exact material used by renowned Danish sea trout angler Torben Gosh to tie the famous Glimmer Rejen (Sparkling Shrimp) fly.
We’ve sourced a small batch of this original chenille from an old stockpile – once it’s gone, it’s gone for good.
Designed by Sea Trout Legend Torben Gosh
Torben Gosh is one of Denmark’s legendary sea trout anglers and the creative mind behind the Glimmer Reje. Known for his simple but deadly patterns, Torben designed the fly for cold-water conditions – especially late autumn through winter – and it has earned its permanent place in Scandinavian coastal fly boxes ever since.
You may have met Torben in person at the iconic Salmonfly shop in Copenhagen, where he has long shared his expertise on fly tying and fishing.
